Beautiful Ancient Temple – Borobudur

I’m so in love with Borobudur – the ancient giant Buddhist temple in central Java,
So in love that I believe everyone must know everything about it and in love with it too once they’re visiting the temple.

I’m quite shocked when I found out that there are still lot of people do not know that this giant ancient temple even ever exist.
Several months ago, when I watched one of the Amazing Race show, and when Borobudur become one of a must visit place for every contestants, once they were arrived, they were so amazed and said: “This is the reason why we joined Amazing Race!” That’s why I believe that you will fall in love with it too, a must see in your next vacation.

The temple was built in the ninth century in Magelang (Near Jogjakarta), Central Java when the land was governed by Sailendravamça (Sanskrit: Sailendra dynasty), Sailendra is the name of an influential Indonesian dynasty that emerged in 8th century in Java. The rumors said this temple is much bigger than what we can see now, that if we want to see the whole part we should dig and relocate the whole city between Magelang and Jogjakarta.

This giant and beautiful monument was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Borobudur is still used for pilgrimage; once a year Buddhists in Indonesia celebrate Vesak at the monument, the Buddhist pray and welcoming tourists to take a part in the celebration, like releasing 750 lanterns.. This party become one of the most favorite tourist attraction in Indonesia beside Bali. So, do you need to think twice?
